Rachel Rossabi- Certified Rolfer™

Hi! I’m Rachel. I live in Greensboro, NC, have 3 of the best cats in the universe, love gardening and cooking, and I’m excited to share why I would be an excellent addition to the Board of Directors at the Rolf Institute!

Being a recent graduate of DIRI gives me a fresh perspective on the training and uniquely equips me to develop ways in which the Institute could be improved. I appreciate your consideration in giving me the opportunity to contribute to our collective mission and to make a
positive impact!

Although I’ve only been Rolfing for a short time, I come with a couple of decades of life and career experience that would be beneficial to the objectives of the board. I have excellent communication skills and, as a Millenial, am both proficient in the current technologies available
and in today’s culture surrounding marketing and media, which would help bridge generational gaps and be essential to continuing in a forward momentum.

Prior to becoming a Rolfer, I managed an Optometry practice for 10 years - overseeing a teamof 13+ people, including an Optometrist. I became proficient in all aspects of the practice, including staffing, practice management, budget management, training both sales and Opticianry, both print and social media marketing, spreadsheet creation and management, goal
and sales tracking, and more; all while contributing to exponential financial growth of the business year after year. I also participated in quarterly strategy meetings with the managers and owners of 2 other practices, so I’m well versed in working cohesively with a team.

The following is a glimpse into the type of growth that I’d love to see for DIRI:

Advancing Education: I want to help elevate our educational programs so that they’re accessible, cohesive, and flexible for different learning styles. Continuous learning is paramount, so I would love to push for new resources and training opportunities that empower our practitioners to do their best work.

Building Community: Connecting with our global Rolfing community is vital. I’m all for creating initiatives that promote collaboration and mentorship. It’s especially essential to strengthen our community in the midst of today’s global sociopolitical climate - as Rolfers we can help reduce divisiveness and provide support for all of those in our community.

Championing Research: I believe Rolfing as a science is heavily under-researched, and see a dramatic importance for research that validates the effects of our craft. By partnering with research initiatives and other professionals such as other SI practitioners, dissectionists, and MDs or Naturopaths, we can provide Rolfers with useful insights and bolster our reputation in the wellness field.

Thank you for considering my candidacy for the Eastern US seat on the Board of Directors and I look forward to the possibilities ahead!

Endorsement
I am writing to endorse Rachel Rossabi as a candidate for the Dr. Ida Rolf Institute Board of Directors.

I have known Rachel since she was in my Phase 1 class during her basic training at DIRI. I found her to be a dynamic and passionate student of Rolfing. I appreciated that she felt empowered to raise student challenges and discuss curriculum improvements. She continued to connect with me during the remainder of her training and after as a Certified Rolfer. She brings curiosity and commitment in her explorations of how to be a better practitioner and how to elevate our school and our community.

I believe her energy and excitement will serve us well as a Board member, and I encourage you to vote for her.
