Rolfing® is a method that has been gaining popularity in Brazil. In this context, I share my experiential—albeit still empirical—practice with children and adolescents, which has shown promising and consistent results. While the traditional recipe of the Rolfing method remains a valid and widely used foundation, in Brazil we are also exploring and enhancing the method through movement. My work specifically focuses on the development of Rolfing Movement™ï¿½ as applied to children and adolescents.
This approach emphasizes the process of self-awareness and motor explore, supporting the acquisition of both motor and cognitive skills. These processes foster bodily adaptations that lead to observable psychobiological changes. I conduct the sessions and address current relevant challenges such as attention difficulties, autism spectrum disorder, mood disorders, anxiety syndromes, and social phobia.
Sessions take place twice a week and follow a structured progression: they begin with moderate exercises focused on connection and awakening to spatial and temporal awareness. Activities then move into playful, individualized exercises tailored to each participant’s specific needs. Each session ends with a closing moment of dialogue and reflection, allowing participants to integrate and give meaning to the experience they just had.
I will share the results of this experience.
