Admission Requirements

A high school diploma is considered valid if the institution is:

a.) Regionally accredited.

OR

b.) Registered with the State Division of Non-Public Education as a homeschool.

Note: For applications to classes held outside of Colorado, your diploma will be evaluated based on guidelines from the respective state’s department of education.

You must provide one of the following:

a) An official academic transcript (equivalent to an AA degree or occupational certificate) showing at least 60 credit hours at an institution of adult or higher education.

OR

b) Documentation of a minimum of four years of equivalent career experience and professional accomplishments.

Please note: Rolfing® Certification students are not expected to have had any prior experience with bodywork, massage, or Rolfing Structural Integration, but if you do, you may include it in your resume.

Students who plan to transfer hours into the program are required to have prior training in massage or bodywork and are required to provide proof of clinical experience.

When looking for professional references, you can consider people who have worked closely with you and can speak to your professional abilities.

Some examples of people you can ask to be a professional reference include: 

• Professor or teacher: Especially if they supervised a long-term project or experiment. 
• Supervisors: Current or former managers who can speak to your work performance. 
• Co-workers: People you worked with in a previous position or current coworkers who can describe your professional skills and performance. 
• Mentors: Coworkers or supervisors who have trained you or provided professional guidance. 
• Clients: Current or former customers, especially those with whom you have a long-standing relationship. 
• Supervisees: Junior-level employees, especially those that you supervised or trained, who can provide an overview of your leadership skills. 
• Volunteer supervisor or coordinator: Someone you volunteered with who can speak to your skills and work ethic.

The length of each letter should not exceed 1-2 pages.

As part of the admissions process, all students are asked to provide an essay on the topic of their life experience and preparation to engage in bodywork and the field of Structural Integration. Specifically, essays should address your personal life experience and how past achievements and challenges have prepared you to adapt, learn, and be successful in the DIRI Rolfing SI program.  

Your essay should:

• Briefly introduce yourself by describing your educational and work experiences.
• Describe a past achievement and a past challenge. What personal character traits have helped you deal with success and failure? What have you done well? How might you have acted differently?
• Reflecting back, what were your support mechanisms? How do your past experiences, help you to adapt to change?
• Explain: There are many bodywork modalities and structural integration schools from which to choose.  Why have you decided to apply to The Dr. Ida Rolf Institute? Considering your life experiences, why is this the right time for you to attend the Rolfing SI program?
• Demonstrate your ability to provide cogent and introspective written work.

Essay format:

• Maximum of three typed double-spaced pages (8 by 11) with one-inch margins
• Times New Roman 12-point font
• Left-sided, single-spaced notation prior to starting your essay will include the following:
  • Date (Month, Day, and Year)
  • Name of Student
  • To: Rolfing SI Admissions Committee
• Before you begin your essay, please note the title “Life Experience Essay”

International Students Enrolling in Lafayette, CO:

Please indicate the need for an I-20/M-1 Visa and submit your completed application, including a copy of your passport ID page and official TOEFL scores, no later than 60 days before the class start date.

Note: Only students attending the Rolfing®Certification Program in Lafayette, CO, are eligible to receive an I-20/M-1 Visa.
