This talk delves into the fascinating and often overlooked connection between our oral functions and the alignment of the head on the spine. We'll explore the phylogeny of the skull, tracing its evolutionary development, and then demonstrate the direct impact of the masticatory muscles and temporomandibular joints (TMJs) on overall body posture.
Through a practical demonstration, you'll see firsthand how manipulating the masticatory muscles can immediately alter foot weight distribution. We'll also share a short video from the Myofunctional Dentistry series illustrating changes in skull posture, complemented by clinical case photos that highlight these relationships. The session will conclude with an open floor for questions and discussion, allowing for a deeper exploration of this critical topic.
