Shedding a New Light on Ida Rolf’s Historic Discovery of Gravity’s Influence on the Human Body Structure

Ida Rolf paid special attention to the relationship of human body structure and gravity and kept pursuing actual applications to recover our health. She saw through our body structure is stacks of blocks consisting of seven blocks as seen in the Rolfing logo.

Dr. Rolf claimed our health and efficiency of moving depends upon how our body structure, stacks of blocks adapting to gravity force. Misalignment of blocks invites stiffness/heaviness/tilt or bending of bones. Also, the weight in a bone can get stuck at a specific place. When we stand upright correctly and the weight flows up and down smoothly, our body gets healthier/softer. We feel well-being of our body as feeling easiness.

I will introduce how to make an analysis of structure and align the stacks of bones with slight force to recover the ease of our body by focusing three primary blocks of blocks. In addition, I can introduce the application of this idea to Movements
