Steps to Becoming a Rolfer™

A course of study at The Rolf Institute is a unique blend of experiential learning, academic rigor, and personal growth. Rolfing classes are small to maximize attention to individuals. The program has a flexible timetable to accommodate the diverse needs of students. Completion of the program allows students to enter a profession in which the freedom of self employment is supported by a well established reputation and a worldwide Rolfing community.

Students can expect the basic certification program to last one and a half  to two years. Rolfers can then choose to pursue specialization in Rolf Movement Integration, and have other continuing education obligations leading to final certification as an Advanced Rolfer.

Training Process

The Rolfing training is offered in three units. For the first unit, there are two options available depending upon your background. The format is designed to allow for flexibility in how long the entire training process takes, depending on the needs of the student. The intensity of the training, the necessity of integration between units, financial considerations, and interim requirements should all be carefully considered when preparing a timetable for the training.
