Steps to Becoming a Rolfer™
Students can expect the certification program to last 12 to 18 months. Rolfers can then choose to pursue specialization in Rolf Movement® Integration, and have other continuing education obligations leading to final certification as an Advanced Rolfer and then RISI Membership.
Certified Rolfer™ Training
The Rolfing® Training Program is offered in three units. There are two options for your first class of study from which to choose, depending upon your background: Foundations of Rolfing Structural Integration, for individuals without previous bodywork experience or Advanced Foundations of Rolfing Structural Integration, for individuals with massage, physical therapy or other previous bodywork experience.
The Rolf Institute of Structural Integration defines an instructional hour as 60 minutes. Depending on one's path of study, Rolf Institute graduates must complete a total of 600 or 731 instructional hours in the program in order to earn certification as a Rolfer.
For more detail on courses, please see Course of Study.
